Rock Singles Review (05/01/10)

THREE DAYS GRACE – THE GOOD LIFE

Three Days Grace

Three Days Grace

Three Days Grace were and still are a very downbeat and overly serious band, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But on this album they inject a little bit of fun and edge into the mix that makes an already talented band more likeable. The opening riff isn’t anything great, but the chorus is instantly memorable and like previous single “Break”, it will have your foot tapping.

RATING: 3.5 / 5

ONE REPUBLIC – ALL THE RIGHT MOVES

One Republic

One hit wonders ? I think not. A very strong return for One Republic that suggests theres longevity in these guys. The inescapably catchy chorus will even have the haters knodding their head.

RATING:  3 / 5

NICKELBACK – SHAKIN HANDS

Nickelback

The opening riff is rocking and as the song goes on, it gets even better. Kroeger spouts out raunchy lyrics like nobody else and this song pulls no punches. It may not be better than previous single “Burn It to the Ground”, but its still a classic Nickelback rocker.

RATING: 3.5 / 5

BON JOVI – SUPERMAN TONIGHT

Bon Jovi

A Bon jovi ballad that unfortunately pales in comparison to old Bon Jovi ballads like “Bed of Roses” and “Always”. A bad song it aint, but compared to some truly superior material on this album (” The Circle”), it holds very little excitement.

RATING : 2.5 / 5

About Steven Mc Brearty

I like music (anything that rocks and has a nice melody) and movies (I'm a movie nut).
