Movie Review Roundup

Youth In Revolt

To have this good a cast (Zach Galifianakis, Steve Buscemi, Ray Liotta and Justin Long) and to mess it up is a real shame. It’s the story of the geeky kid, Michael Cera, trying to win the girl of his dreams by turning to his alter ego who is the opposite to him in everyway. The film has a few laughs but for a near two hour film, it just isnt enough. The plot also goes in some wierd directions.

RATING: 5/10

A movie that is much more entertaining as trailer, rather than a full length film. God wants to destroy earth by sending vampire angels and a plague to kill all. But one angel (Paul Bettany) stands up to save us. The silly plot could be forgiven if it was a fun movie and while the first 45 minutes in quite entertaining, the movie loses steam real quickly and the finale is real flat.

RATING: 5.5/10

It’s Complicated

Some films surprise you and this one did. Story of a divorced woman (Meryl Streep) who is torn between her ex husband (Alec Baldwin) who she still has feelings for and a new guy (Steve Martin). The film works when its trying to be serious, but it also gets some big laughs.

RATING: 7.5/10

About Steven Mc Brearty

I like music (anything that rocks and has a nice melody) and movies (I'm a movie nut).
