My Top 5 Comedies (Of All Time)

The 40 Year Old Virgin

Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen star in a film that should be in everybody’s top five. The whole cast are on top form, and the laughs never stop coming, even with a 2 hour plus running time.

Dumb and Dumber

No explanation for why this amkes the list. Carrey and Daniels work off each other perfectly to make the classic that is Dumb and Dumber. It never gets old and like most great comedies you laugh even louder the more watch it.

Anchorman

Possibly the most quoted comedy of all time. Will Ferrell is the lead star of this classic. Its like no other film and that is impressive as much as it is saddening. Stay classy steveinreallife readers. 🙂

The Wedding Singer

Tough choice, but this has to be Sandler’s best film. Steve Buscemi and Drew Barrymore co star in the rom com briliance that is Wedding Singer. Great soundtrack aswell.

Liar Liar

Theres few films that make me soar with laughter, but Jim Carrey’s 1997 hit done just that. Carrey gives a performance that is tiring to watch as he goes up and beyoind to get laughs.

About Steven Mc Brearty

I like music (anything that rocks and has a nice melody) and movies (I'm a movie nut).

I don’t understand the meaning of this list when The Hangover doesn’t even get mentioned in passing. 😛

How could you overlook that, man?

  2. Mobalzar says:

To overlook any of the already mentioned 5, and replace one of them for the hangover would be much worse. Although Liar liar is “maybe” out of place. Jim Carrey is the son of Comedy and has boots which cannot be rivaled. The Wedding Singer is Adam Sandlers best film (followed closely by Happy Gilmore) Anchorman and The 40 year old virgin have given us those movie quotes, (without which many awkward situations would have passed with silence )
